Google Chromecast Ultra Review
Google Chromecast Ultra Review. The 4K version of Chromecast. Just plug it into a HDMI port and you are good to go. Internet connection is required to setup.
Introduction:
Recently a few 4k capable screens have been purchased. Previous setup consisted of x2 2nd generation Chromecasts. Both are being used in conjunction with a UGreen Chromecast compatible micro USB Ethernet connection. Both working pretty good. However no 4K. The existing Chromecasts will be moved to non 4K screens.
The Pros:
- Ethernet Connection: WiFi is no substitute for a solid, fast, hard wired, and reliable connection.
- 4K Resolution 3840 x 2160 yes please!
- 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi Support: Freedom to choose the less congested spectrum.
- Lots of support:
- Netflix
- Google Play
- YouTube
- Spotify
- Stan
- Iview
- 9 Now
- Foxtel Now
- Google Photos
- FaceBook (Do not go there)
The Cons:
- Cost: At $95 when the 2nd generation FHD version is $49.
- Internet connection required for initial setup. Why?
Conclusion:
Thumbs up. Setup including update took less than 5 minutes. So far so good. Very happy with it. Probably will purchase another one for the other 4K screen.
Works very well with the Google Home Mini and Google Home Hub.
