So after wasting a couple of hours trying to setup gmail. Found googles documentation stating that in order to use an app password. MFA needs to be setup. Not interested in doing that on a “Throw away account”

Was able to get it up and running using a GMX account.

Prerequisite: Enable POP and SMTP on the account.

• In the E-mail tab
• click Settings.
• Click POP3 & IMAP.
• Activate the checkbox that says Enable access to this account via POP3 and IMAP.
• Click Save

GMX Motion Notification Settings

• Send An Email: On
• Email Address: your_email@gmx.com
• SMTP Server: mail.gmx.com
• SMTP Port: 587
• SMTP Password: your_email_password
• From Address: your_email@gmx.com
• Use TLS: On
• Attached Pictures Time Span: 5 seconds
